The CPI on Friday demanded that the central executive take over aid and rehabilitation of the ones displaced via the Polavaram dam undertaking in Andhra Pradesh. Senior CPI chief D Raja met Top Minister Narendra Modi and advised him that central rules don’t seem to be being applied for the rehabilitation of the ones displaced on account of the undertaking.
In a memorandum submitted to the PM, Raja and his birthday party colleague Okay Narayana mentioned land acquisition and wooded area rights acts and the central nationwide rehabilitation coverage of 2008 don’t seem to be being applied within the Polavaram undertaking.
“As in keeping with central rules, each and every displaced circle of relatives will have to get a central authority activity, land in lieu of land got, housing and cash to maintain until they get right kind rehabilitation and approach of livelihood. None of this has been executed at Polavaram dam… Other folks had been evicted with guarantees of housing. That has now not been executed even as of late….” they mentioned.
