Skier Aanchal brings India first-ever medal, applauded through PM

High Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday complimented Aanchal Thakur on successful the first-ever medal for India in a snowboarding festival, and stated all the nation was once ecstatic on her “ancient accomplishment”.

 

The 21-year-old clinched bronze within the coveted Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised through the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) — snowboarding’s world governing frame — on the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey on Tuesday.

“Neatly performed @alleaanchal for successful a global medal in snowboarding! All the country is ecstatic to your ancient accomplishment on the FIS Global Snowboarding Pageant in Turkey. Wishing you the perfect on your long run endeavours,” Modi tweeted.
